The Challenge
A fast-food restaurant client that had been experiencing ongoing decline was looking for an opportunity to exponentially change the game of its business.
The Process
The Pert Group conducted an extensive Opportunity Discovery process to help the client develop a strategy for future growth. The process included:
- A market scan to identify trends for consumer, category and food
- A review of competitor growth strategies
- A client work session to develop game changers to test
- Quantitative research to assess a large number of game changers
- Development of a scoring model to determine the value of possible game changers
- A final work session to determine game changers to develop
Results
Based on the results of the Opportunity Discovery, the client buried product ideas that had been long debated but that research negated. Positive product ideas were then prioritized based on opportunity and capabilities. The client is currently developing some of these products, and in-market testing is proving out their potential.
